“Hyundai Capital has ‘winning DNA,'” says second-year setter Hyunseung Lee

Hyundai Capital setter Lee Hyun-seung, 22, is a green shoot in his second year as a professional in the V-League Men’s Division. The second overall pick in the first round of last year’s rookie draft, he wore the jersey of the ‘House of Tradition’ and played 26 regular season games in 2022-2023. He played more than expected due to the injury of senior Kim Myung-kwan (26).

Speaking at the clubhouse Castle of Skywalkers in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, Lee said, “I had a really special time. I never thought that I would be in the spotlight as soon as I stepped onto the professional stage and be able to play consistently. Every moment I stepped on the V-League court was like a dream,” he reflected on his debut season.

Possessing a strong physique, quickness, and game vision, Lee can’t forget the moment he was selected by Hyundai Capital. “I was terrified and scared. While I enjoyed playing volleyball as an amateur, the weight of being a professional, especially a member of a team that is always challenging for the championship, was overwhelming. Moreover, the head coach (Choi Tae-woong) is a superstar in the same position. It’s not often that you get to be coached by a top setter 먹튀검증.”

Fortunately, he adapted quickly. This is due to the fun team culture. At Hyundai Capital, everyone calls each other “brother,” even if there is an age difference of more than 10 years. Even middle blocker (center) Park Sang-ha, born in 1986, is not called “uncle” or “older brother,” but just “brother.
Hyun-seung’s biggest takeaway from his debut season with Hyundai Capital was his unique ‘winning DNA’. “Ever since I started playing volleyball in middle school, Hyundai Capital’s image has been ‘championship,’ and I realized why they win a lot and why the number of wins is not small. The training environment is the best, and the exercise system is sophisticated and systematic. It’s a team that has to win. Everyone is motivated and can’t help but work hard.”

The goals for the new season are clear. After finishing runner-up in her debut season, she wants to be at the top in her second year. “I just need to be good here,” said Lee Hyun-seung. “I’m working hard and have a lot of venom. I want to prove that I’m hardworking and have a venomous spirit. I want to be responsible and get the most credit for the team’s victory,” he said, pumping his fist.
