“There’s nothing ‘free’ about winning,” a special promise from ‘Captain’ SON, and a ‘warning’ from witty Chairman Levy

Tottenham’s fan forum on Tuesday (July 20) was attended by chairman Levy, head coach Enze Postecoglou, and Son Heung-min. With over 250 fans in attendance, the mood was as upbeat as ever.

Tottenham’s strong start to the 2023-2024 season was cut short. They are unbeaten in the English Premier League (EPL) despite Harry Kane’s departure. With four wins and one draw, they’re in second place behind Man City (five wins).

Fans have praised the signing of James Maddison. Tottenham signed Maddison for £40 million early in the summer transfer window.

And it’s paid off. With two goals and two assists, Maddison has been instrumental in Spurs’ rise to the top of the table. He was also named Premier League Player of the Month for August.

During the Q&A session, Levy shrugged off the cheers for the signing. He made fans laugh with a witty joke. “He should know that he can’t come to the training ground in a red car. I told him that. He must have understood,” he laughed.

The ‘red’ refers to ‘North London’ rivals Arsenal. The North London derby is also on the horizon. Tottenham will host Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London, England, on April 24 at 10 p.m. in the sixth round of the EPL.

On behalf of the players, Son Heung-min promised to give the fans a good show: “The rivalry game is the most important game of the season. We had a tough season last year and away games were tough,” he said, adding, “안전놀이터 There is no ‘free’ in victory. We are working hard to prepare.”

Arsenal’s upward trend has continued this season. They are level on points with Tottenham in the EPL with four wins and one draw. They are in fourth place behind Tottenham on goal difference and behind Liverpool.
