Kim Min-jae completes ‘Japanese national striker’ Asano clean sweep…Munich thrashes Bochum 7-0 thanks to Kane hat-trick

The Japanese international was completely obliterated.

Bayern Munich cruised to a 7-0 victory over Bochum in the fifth round of the 2023-24 German Bundesliga at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, on Sunday (Sept. 23). Harry Kane exploded for a hat trick.

Kim Min-jae started the game and was paired with Matthias Der Licht. Despite the change in partners, Kim’s defense didn’t suffer. He’s been paired with Dayo Upamecano most of the season, but he also worked well with Der Licht.

Especially in the 21st minute of the second half, he battled with Kim on the flank, but was frustrated when he couldn’t push him off with his body. If Kim was at the back of Munich’s defense, Kane was at the front. Kane added a goal 13 minutes into the first half and a penalty nine minutes into the second. He finished it off in the 43rd minute with a neat finish from a cross from the flank. It was his first hat-trick since moving to Munich.

There was no mercy for Munich. In addition to Kane’s hat trick, Munich destroyed Bochum with consecutive goals from Maxime Choupo-Moting, Der Licht, Leroy Sane, and Mathis Tell. With the win, the Bavarians leapfrogged Stuttgart at the top of the league.
