Tottenham’s rise in the English Premier League (EPL) is frightening.
Tottenham are in top form despite the departure of their star striker Harry Kane to Bayern Munich. Kane’s absence hasn’t been felt.
Tottenham drew in the North London derby on April 24. They drew 2-2 away to Arsenal in the sixth round of the EPL at the Emirates Stadium. It was a game that Spurs actually won. It was the biggest game of the season for a team on the rise. Spurs didn’t go down without a fight and took a point away from the Death Valley.
Son Heung-min scored two goals and James Maddison added two assists. The win keeps Spurs unbeaten this season. With four wins and two draws, they sit in fourth place in the league.
The “Captain Son effect” and the addition of Maddison are working in synergy. New coach Enze Postecoglou’s philosophy and tactics are also shining through. Postecoglou is trying to play an attractive attacking style of soccer with Son Heung-min at the center. Tottenham are arguably the EPL’s biggest dark horse this season. There is a strong belief that they can reverse last season’s eighth-place humiliation.
However, the ‘supercomputer’ prediction is that Spurs will not finish in the ‘big four’. Even the “Son Heung-min effect” won’t get them into the top four, which means they won’t qualify for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) next season. The supercomputer’s forecast has Tottenham finishing fifth this season.
The Sun, a British newspaper, released its supercomputer predictions for the season. According to the leaderboard, Manchester City will win the title. 스포츠토토
They are followed by Liverpool in second place, Arsenal in third, Newcastle in fourth, and Tottenham in fifth. Manchester United is sixth, Brighton & Hove Albion is seventh, Aston Villa is eighth, Chelsea is ninth, and West Ham is 10th. The relegation places were predicted to be Burnley in 18th, Luton Town in 19th and Sheffield United in 20th.
“The latest supercomputer forecast is for United to drop to sixth place, meaning they will miss out on the UCL,” says The Sun. Man City will retain the title, followed by Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham. Chelsea will remain in ninth place. Burnley, Luton Town, and Sheffield United are expected to be relegated.”
