The Korean men’s basketball team, seeking its first gold medal in nine years, will open its campaign at the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

Ranked 51st by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the Korean Men’s National Basketball Team will face Indonesia, Qatar and Japan in Group D of the competition. The team will open with a 5:30 p.m. game against Indonesia (74th) on Sept. 26, followed by a 2:30 p.m. game against Qatar (104th) on Sept. 28. On the 30th, the team will face rival Japan (ranked 26th).

The men’s basketball team will be led by ‘captains’ Kim Sun-hyung (SK) and Kim Jong-kyu (DB), who led the team to victory nine years ago. They are joined by 12 other players, including Ra Gun-ah, Lee Seung-hyun (KCC), Heo Hoon, Byun Jun-hyung (Sangsung), Lee Jung-hyun, Jeon Sung-hyun (Sono), Ha Yoon-ki, Moon Jung-hyun (KT), Yang Hong-seok (LG), and Lee Woo-seok (Hyundai Mobis). The team had to make changes due to injuries to Moon Sung-gon (KT) and Song Kyo-chang (Sangsung), but the guard lineup of Kim Sun-hyung, Heo Hoon, Lee Jung-hyun, and Byun Jun-hyung remains strong. 스포츠토토

“I think Korea will reach the final of this tournament,” said SPOTV member Cho Hyun-il, “China, who have the host nation advantage, and Japan, who are second-tier but have players looking to make the Olympic squad, will be the teams to watch out for.” “The backcourt will need to play with a cool head, and the frontcourt will be key in terms of foul management and rebounding.”

Game 1 between South Korea and Indonesia will take place on June 26 at 6:30 p.m. and can be seen on SPOTV NOW.
