Kim Min-jae and Son Heung-min, the only two from Asia… Top 100 soccer players in the world.

Kim Min-jae and Son Heung-min are among the world’s top 100 ransomed soccer players. Unique in Asia.

Son Heung-min and Kim Min-jae made the top 100 list of the world’s highest-paid soccer players released by soccer transfer site Transfermarkt on April 1 (KST).

No other Asian players made the list. According to the site, Son is worth €50 million (approximately $71 billion), the same amount as his Tottenham Hotspur teammate, and is ranked 94th.

Kim Min-jae was even higher, ranking 67th with €60 million (about $85 billion). That’s the same amount as AC Milan defender Theo Hernandez, Tottenham midfielder James Maddison, and Bayern Munich’s Dayot Upamecano.

According to Transfermarkt, Son was worth €25 million in 2015 when he first joined Tottenham, but his price tag rose to €30 million for the first time in 2017, reaching €42 million, and then rose sharply to reach €50 million in 2018. In just three years, his value had doubled.

He then exploded again in 2019, reaching a staggering €80 million (approximately $114 billion), before breaking the all-time ransom record in December 2020. However, his price tag gradually dropped after he became the Premier League’s top scorer in the 2021/22 season, and as he turned 30 years old, it has slowly come back down to €50 million.

Son’s price tag exploded in 2020, largely due to his offensive versatility in the 2020/21 season.

He scored 22 goals and provided 17 assists in 55 games, the most in a single season. He also finished fourth in the English Premier League power rankings and ninth in the top five European leagues (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France) in attacking points at the end of the season. Now 31 years old, Son’s price tag is in line with the typical soccer player’s price tag. It’s a steady upward spiral through his prime years and then a gradual decline as he ages.

Kim Min-jae’s price is very similar to Son Heung-min’s upward trend. He had a modest price tag at Fenerbahçe in Turkey, reaching €14 million in 2022, but his price tag has risen steeply since joining Napoli in the 2022/23 season.

After reaching 25 million euros in September 2022, his price tag rose by 10 million euros to 35 million euros (approximately 50 billion won) in November that same year, and then by 60 million euros in June of the following year.

One of the reasons for the dramatic increase in Kim’s price tag is that Napoli won the Serie A title. Napoli sold center back Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea in the summer transfer window of the 2022/23 season, so they were in need of a key player in defense. Kim has been a “pillar of strength” for Napoli, filling the void left by Koulibaly and helping Napoli break the club’s single-season league record for fewest goals conceded (28).

He also won the Italian Serie A’s best defender award and had a season that made Kim Min-jae’s name known around the world. 토토사이트

Meanwhile, Transfermarkt named Bayern Munich as the club with the most players in the top 100.

The Bavarians have 10 players, or 10 percent of the total, including Kim Min-jae, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Alfonso Davies, Joao Kimmich, and Harry Kane. Son Heung-min’s Tottenham have four players on the list, including Cristian Romero, Dejan Kluczewski, and Yohan Cabaye, which is the same number as Newcastle United in the Premier League.
