After 50,000 boos and a killer tackle, Hwang eats pork belly and focuses on recovery

After surviving boos and killer tackles from a 50,000-strong crowd, Hwang Sun-Hong Ho tucked into pork belly and broiler and went for a walk.

Hwang Sun-hong is one step away from a third consecutive Asian Games gold medal. South Korea defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 on Thursday (9 p.m. ET) at the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, China, in the fourth round of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

Their final opponent is “nemesis” Japan. Japan defeated Hong Kong 4-0 earlier in the day.

Their quarterfinal opponent was China. They were expected to be one of the toughest teams of the tournament. They were faced with boos and one-sided “cheers” from Chinese fans who would fill the 50,000-seat Huanglong Sports Center Stadium.

There were also concerns about the Chinese and the referees, as Colleen Bell’s women’s soccer team had lost to North Korea on Sept. 30, the day before the tournament, in an inexplicably lopsided decision.

But when the lid was lifted, it wasn’t as difficult as we feared. South Korea defeated China 2-0 with a goal from Hong Hyun-seok and another from Song Min-gyu.

Mountain over mountain. Our semifinal opponent was Uzbekistan, one of the favorites to win the tournament. The physical condition of the players was closer to that of European players, with many physical players and sincere pressing players, and the perception was that it was a different opponent. 토토사이트

However, Hwang was able to overcome this. The Uzbek players’ reckless and dangerous tackles continued throughout the match. Eventually, Uhm Won-sang went down with an ankle injury, but Korea won 2-1 and reached the final.

The players will not be practicing outdoors on the 5th, the day after the game. Instead, the team visited a Korean restaurant in Soho at 1 p.m. (local time) and enjoyed Korean food such as pork belly and broiler, and from 5 p.m. onward, they focused on recovery with foam rollers, walks, and recovery exercises at the team hotel.

Meanwhile, Uhm Won-sang suffered a mild left ankle sprain and her availability for the final match against Korea remains to be seen.
