Bayern Munich’s injury woes continue. Matthias De Ligt (24) returned from injury, but on the same day Leon Goretzka (28) fractured his finger and will be out for a while.

“Goretzka suffered a metacarpal fracture in the game against Mainz,” Bayern Munich announced on the club’s website on Wednesday. Goretzka underwent successful surgery on Sunday and will not be available for the next match.” 토토사이트

Against Mainz, Goretzka broke his left finger while contesting a corner kick. He continued to play a little longer, but his condition eventually worsened and he was replaced by Buna Sarr, 31, in the 30th minute of the second half. An MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan immediately followed, which revealed a fractured metacarpal bone.

Goretzka is expected to be sidelined for the next three weeks. “It’s a bitter pill to swallow for Goretzka, who played well against Mainz and scored a goal, but he won’t be able to travel to Istanbul for surgery and will miss a number of games (up to three weeks),” German media outlet Sport Bild’s Alz Chepi reported on social media on Wednesday.

Without Goretzka, Bayern Munich will host Galatasaray in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) Group A third leg in two days. That’s back-to-back league and cup competitions. To top it all off, the most important game in the Bundesliga title race is scheduled for the fifth of next month against “rivals” Dortmund.

With Serge Gnabry (28), Dayo Upamecano (24), and Nusair Mazhrawi (25) already injured, Goretzka, the centerpiece of the midfield, will also be out. Konrad Reimer (26), who has been playing at right-back, is expected to fill the void left by Goretzka.

“Thank you very much to everyone who sent me messages and wish me all the best, I’ll be back soon,” Goretzka wrote on social media on Wednesday after his successful surgery.
