Divine left-back Destiny Udogie, 21, has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur. He has extended his contract until 2030.

“We are delighted to announce that Destiny Udogie has signed a new contract with Tottenham Hotspur. The contract runs until the summer of 2030.” “Udogie spent the 2022-2023 season on loan in Serie A after joining from Udinese in August 2022,” the club said. “He made his official match debut against Brentford in August 2023 and went on to make 14 appearances.”

The 2002-born youngster has formed a strong partnership with Son Heung-min, 31. It was Son who scored Udogie’s first goal for Tottenham. Against Newcastle United, Son played an exquisite cross into the box for an incoming Udogie.

Ange Postecoglou (58) has been given a lot of credit by Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino. “A key part of the team’s attacking game, the 21-year-old left-back scored his debut goal in the 4-1 win at Newcastle in December 2023. Following his impressive performances, Udogie made his official debut for Italy in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier in October.”

Tottenham are keen to keep hold of their fast-rising youngster. They want to be there for him in his prime. European soccer expert Fabrizio Romano said on social media, “Udogie’s contract will run until 2029. An option for a one-year extension is included.”

According to local media reports, Udogie is the choice of former Tottenham manager Fabio Paratici, 51, who is well versed in Serie A players. According to Football London, Paratici said, “Udogie is the perfect player. “He’s the perfect player. He’s going to make a real impact at Tottenham. “Tottenham may regret sending Udogie out on loan to Udinese,” said the Mirror. Tottenham staff have high hopes for Udogie,” according to the Mirror.

Tottenham signed Udogie in the summer of 2022 before sending him back to his former club Udinese on loan. At the time, the Spurs left-back position was saturated. Ivan Perisic (34), Ben Davies (29), Ryan Sessegnon (23) and Matt Doherty (31 – now at Wolverhampton Wanderers) were all available.

The talent was evident. Udogie returned to Udinese and went on to impress in Italy. He scored three goals and provided four assists in 33 Serie A games in the 2022-2023 season, earning him a nomination for the Best 11 Defense of the Year. The winner at the time was Kim Min-Jae (27, now at Bayern Munich), who was a key center back for Napoli.

Udogie’s return to Tottenham was already a done deal. According to local London newspaper Football London, Udogie visited Tottenham’s home stadium during the season to meet with players and staff. In the game against West Ham United that Udogie visited, Son Heung-min scored a goal.

He’s been a standout since preseason. Udogie came on as a second-half substitute against West Ham. He was playing on the left flank in Postecoglou’s four-man defense. Udogie impressed his manager with a header from a corner kick.

Udogi won a starting spot in a fierce competition. Postecoglou gave several players a chance in the preseason. Udogie, Perisic, Japhet Tanganga (24), Eric Dier (29), and Sergio Regillon (26) all played in their respective positions at least once.

Meanwhile, Perisic, a starter last season, is out for the season. Spurs announced the news of Perisic’s cruciate ligament injury through their official channels in September. “Perisic has undergone surgery to repair a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and has entered rehabilitation. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season.”

Udogie capitalized on his opportunity. He started every game from the opening day of the 2023-24 English Premier League (EPL) season. His first assist came in the third game against AFC Bournemouth. In the fourth round match against Burnley, he showed his attacking talent by assisting James Maddison’s (26) goal. 월카지노

He made the leap to a regular starter under Postecoglou and scored his first goal. Udogie gave Tottenham the lead against Newcastle, finishing a pass from Son Heung-min with a direct shot. After five games with one draw and four defeats, Tottenham turned things around with the win over Newcastle.

Udogie’s start is likely to continue for some time. The competition has fallen to injury. Sessegnon may not return until this time next year. “After Hicharlison (26) and Pape Sarr (21), no one will return from injury this year,” Postecoglou told Football London. Spurs will have to rely heavily on Udogie, who is effectively their last wing-back.

Spurs have a tough Premier League schedule. After 16 games, they are in fifth place with nine wins, three draws, four losses, and 30 points. After leading the table with eight wins and two draws in 10 games, they’ve been plagued by injuries to key players lately. Starting center back Mickey van der Penn (22), Manor Solomon (24), and Maddison are on the injury list. Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur (26) picked up another nasty knock in just his fourth game back. It was triggered by his inability to avoid a heavy tackle from an opponent at Aston Villa.

Spurs have already been eliminated from the English League Cup (EFL Cup). Spurs have only two competitions left. They face Nottingham Forest on Nov. 16, Everton on Nov. 24, Brighton & Hove Albion on Nov. 29, and Bournemouth on Nov. 31. Next January, they’ll face Burnley in the FA Cup.
