Kim Ha-sung’s 161km bullet home run in the “Season 7” soothed the home fan ‘only’… San Diego’s 1-9 complete defeat ‘Darvish 3-inning Steel Plate’

Only Kim Ha-sung (29) of the San Diego Padres shone in the game. Kim Ha-sung’s home run was the only scene that appealed to home fans when the mound collapsed after 16 hits.

Kim Ha-sung started as the ninth hitter and shortstop in the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season home game against the Miami Marlins at Petco Park in San Diego, California, on the 30th (Korea time), and scored one hit (one home run) and one RBI and one run in three times at bat.

It was his seventh homer in this season, which was his first in 10 games since the game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. He also elevated his batting average from 0.214, which fell to 0.212 with no hit in four times at bat the previous day, to 0.214, and his slugging percentage from 0.352 to 0.367.

However, San Diego was completely defeated by Miami 1-9, as it failed to score points except for Kim Ha-sung’s homer. The main reason for this was that starting pitcher Yu Darvish collapsed by allowing six hits, one walk, two strikeouts, and three runs (two earned runs) in three innings. Third baseman Manny Machado also played a critical role in the team’s loss due to frequent defense mistakes. The lineup recorded eight hits, but San Diego, which lacked intensive hits and lost three consecutive games, ranked third in the National League West with 30 wins and 29 losses.
Miami’s starting pitcher Braxton Garrett won his second game of the season with six hits (one homer) and two strikeouts and one run in five innings. In the batting line-up, Josh Bell led the batting line-up with three hits in five at-bats and five hitters with multiple hits, beating the San Diego batting line-up with a total of 16 hits.

On the day, San Diego Padres lined up its lineup with Luis Arraez (first baseman), Fernando Tatis Jr., (right fielder), Jurickson Profar (left fielder), Manny Machado (third baseman), Jake Cronenworth (second baseman), Donovan Solano (designated hitter), Luis Campusano (catcher), Jackson Merrill (center fielder), and Kim Ha-sung (striker). The starting pitcher is Yu Darvish.

In contrast, Miami consists of Jazz Chizom Jr. (center fielder), Brian De La Cruz (designated hitter), Josh Bell (first baseman), Jesus Sanchez (right fielder), Jake Berger (third baseman), Nick Gordon (left fielder), Otto Lopez (second baseman), Vidal Bruyan (striker) and Nick Portes (catcher). Braxton Garrett started the game.

The first run was up to Miami. In the top of the second inning, Gordon, the leadoff hitter, created a run-scoring chance by stealing second base after a hit to the left. Bruyan struck out, but Portes scored the first run with a timely RBI double that cut through the outfield in right-center. Chizom Jr. then made it 2-0 with a timely RBI single to the right.

The defense didn’t help Darvish either. With runners on the first and second bases with two outs in the top of the third inning, Machado caught Lopez’s grounder, and made a hard pitch to the first base. Meanwhile, second baseman Bell passed through the third base and hit a homer.

Kim Ha-sung recovered one point with a home run. Kim was the leadoff hitter in the bottom of the third inning when San Diego was losing 0-3, and watched Garrett’s slider on the outside of the first pitch. When a slightly slower 80.3 mph (129 kph) changeup came to the similar position, he swung the bat without hesitation. The ball flew 379 feet (116 meters) at a fast speed of 99.7 mph (160.5 kph) and flew well over the left-center wall.

Since then, Arraez and Profar have had back-to-back hits to get on base, gaining momentum. However, San Diego failed to score an additional point as Machado struck out swinging and Cronenworth was grounded out due to Bell’s stellar defense.

San Diego replaced Darvish on defense in the top of the fourth inning with Stephen Colleck. Colleck stopped the fourth inning with three outs, but allowed a massive run in the fifth. The leadoff hitter Bell doubled, and Berger drove down Colleck with a timely RBI single in the middle and Gordon’s hit to the left.

The crisis continued. Gordon stole second base off Enjel de Los Santos and even homered when Lopez had an infield single. Bruyan also added a timely RBI single to left, making the score 6-1 in an instant.

Since then, there has been no reversal. Sanchez hit a solo shot in the top of the sixth inning, Chizom Jr. hit an RBI triple with two outs and a runner on first base in the top of the seventh inning, and Portes hit a ground ball with one out and third base in the top of the ninth inning, ending Miami’s 9-1 complete victory. 핑크알바

After his first at-bat home run, Kim failed to add a hit. He grounded out to shortstop in the bottom of the fourth inning with two outs and a runner on first base in the bottom of the seventh inning, and had to be satisfied with adding a home run as it ended with a fly ball to center field.
