Overcoming the injury, “Roaring”… Ahn Se-young has lost two games in a row

Badminton empress Ahn Se-young (22, Samsung Life Insurance) won the top of the international competition in the midst of an injury battle, giving a green light for the 2024 Paris Olympics “Golden Smash.”

Ahn Se-young, the world’s No. 1 badminton player in women’s singles, won the women’s singles final of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour Singapore Open in Singapore on the 2nd, beating “Rival” Chen Yufei (21-19 16-21 21-12). Ahn Se-young, who won the tournament for two consecutive years, won her third trophy this year after the Malaysian Open in January and the French Open in March. 유흥알바

Ahn Se-young, who exchanged one game at a time on the day, brought about the mood by scoring four consecutive points in three games at 9-6. Since then, she has secured the 21-point advantage through stable game management, securing her first win in three months.

It was all the more meaningful because Ahn won the gold medal after overcoming knee injury. With the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September last year, Ahn suffered a slump due to the aftereffects of injury sustained in the final. She failed to make it to the semifinals at the All-English Open in March this year, and knelt down at the quarterfinals at the Asian Championships in April.

As concerns continued over her injury, Ahn said on her social networking service last month that the ruptured tendon (knee ligament) cannot improve in a short period of time unlike her initial diagnosis, but that she should adjust to the pain as much as possible until the Paris Olympics. Ahn shook off concerns by winning the Singapore Open title over Chen Yufei, her gold medal rival at the Paris Olympics.

“I had a hard time because of my injury. Still, I’m happy and happy to show you as much as I tried,” Ahn said after the match. Ahn will try to win the Indonesian Open for two consecutive weeks next week. This is the last mock test right before the Paris Olympics.
